The first five verses of al-Alaq were revealed in Hira (al-Bukhari 3)
ٱقۡرَأۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ

The Meccan Period
The First Revelation in Cave Hira
At forty, during his retreats in the cave of Hira, Jibril came to the Prophet ﷺ with the first verses of Surah al-Alaq: "Recite in the name of your Lord who created." Khadijah and Waraqah ibn Nawfal reassured him of the truth of what he received.
